We were washing our Sheppard  one day after a rather muddy walk and rubbing her coat down with some all natural, cinnamon smelling shampoo.  I’m not a huge cinnamon fan, but it smelled all right (as dog shampoos go), however it got me wondering how “they” determine what scents to use for pet shampoos.  Of course it must be targeted to appeal to the human because we’re the one forking over the cash for this stuff and no way would a dog prefer the smell of cinnamon over something more pungent.  I originally thought about putting “We prefer ‘anal glands’ ” as the dog option, but figured it might cross the line.
