What’s with all of the food themes recently? Junk food, tofu, yogurt. Apparently food is on my mind a lot! Oh well, I guess it could be worse.
Obviously I like the comic strip, otherwise I wouldn’t take the time to write and draw it every week. By the time I sit down to write and draw the strip, that week’s idea has been jumping around my head for awhile and I’ve typically done a rough sketch on paper at least once. At this point I’m too familiar with the joke to really laugh at it. This strip is one of the rare cases where I was laughing while I drew it. I was even laughing a couple hours later when I would think about it. Having said all of that, I’m probably the only person who thinks it’s really funny.
Just about any parent will tell you most kids love junk food and want nothing to do with eating healthy. Let’s face it, who wouldn’t choose a Twix bar over a stalk of celery? Kids who are “full” during dinner more often than not can make plenty of room for some cake, ice cream or cookies. Heck, I’m the same way!
Our pug rarely plays with toys, it’s just never been his thing. The shepherd, however loves chewing on any bone we give her. Sometimes I think the pug takes a bone just to tease the shepherd, which does upset her quite a bit, even if she has six other bones laying around her she only wants the one the pug happens to have.
For my wife’s birthday I like to put it out there that we can do whatever she would like to do. Most years this involves running and then going for a long bike ride. Some years I get lucky and it rains. Sadly though, when it’s my birthday I often feel guilty about wanting to do nothing but sit down to read (or watch football if it’s on) and watch my ass grow.
